++++ UNFORTUNATE NEWS: MPK 2020 postponed to 2021 +++++

With a heavy heart, we have decided to cancel MPK 2020 in Zurich due to the currently unpredictable trajectory of the coronavirus pandemic. Further, the University of Zurich has passed strict regulations (e.g., physical distancing rules with exact specifications concerning the number of people permitted per room), which will most likely still be in place in October. We feel that these restrictions would undermine the spirit and purpose of our meeting.

In place of our meeting this year, we would be delighted to welcome you all in Zurich for the 50th MPK in fall 2021. We will be announcing the exact date in fall this year in order to be able to accommodate other, larger conferences.

We ask everyone who already registered for 2020 to hand in their abstracts again in 2021. We are sorry for the inconvenience but this way we will assure that all  abstracts for 2021 are up-to-date.

We hope for your understanding and look forward to resuming MPK 2021 planning soon.

Welcome to MPK2021

We are pleased to welcome you to the 50th Motivational Psychology Colloquium (MPK), which is to take place at the University of Zurich from tba, 2021. The conference will be hosted by the Chair of Motivation, Volition, and Emotion (Prof. Dr. Veronika Brandstätter & Dr. Katharina Bernecker), with parts of the program being organized and sponsored by the Institut für Selbstmanagement und Motivation Zürich (ISMZ GmbH, Prof. Dr. Maja Storch & Dr. Julia Weber). Further, we are happy to announce that this year`s keynote will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Alexandra Freund, Chair of Developmental Psychology: Adulthood, University of Zurich.

As usual, there will be no registration fees. Further, we recommend booking hotels early to avoid increasing accommodation prices. Please find information about hotel and accommodation including special offers, here.

Present Your Work

As in past years, the MPK is dedicated to research and theorizing on the topic of motivation and will feature talks, posters, as well as data-blitz presentations.

The registration is will open February 2021. Please register your talk, poster, or data-blitz presentation here.

If you would like to attend without presenting please register here.

As this year's MPK includes researchers from non-German-speaking countries and parts of Switzerland, all correspondence will be held in English and we kindly ask attendees to present their research in English, as well.

Social Program

You definitely should not miss our Thursday Night Apéro & Dinner, which is organized and sponsored by ISMZ GmbH. Further, we will enjoy a special setting for this year's Friday Night Dinner with a ferry ride on Lake Zurich to get to our destination.
