Department of Psychology Developmental Psychology: Adulthood

Research

Our research is primarily concerned with processes of successful development across the life span with a particular emphasis on adult development encompassing the time span from entering adulthood well into old age. The projects' focus on motivational processes related to personal goals, values, and motives in the context of managing multiple goals in the life domains of work, family, and leisure, including goal engagement and disengagement. We employ a multi-methodological approach including experimental, longitudinal and cross-sectional designs, experience sampling, physiological assessments, measures of gaze and eye-movement, behavioral observation, self-report, and reaction-time based paradigms.
