Yamina studied German language and linguistics and educational policy at the Universities of Leipzig, Amsterdam, and Bristol, and completed her master’s degree in psychology at the University of Zurich. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Zurich on a part-time basis. Her research focuses on clinical applications of self-efficacy and on approaches to augmenting psychotherapy. Alongside her doctoral research, she works as a psychotherapist and senior psychologist at the Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich.
