Prof. Dr. Birgit Watzke
The professorship for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Research began its clinical, teaching and research activities in February 2013.
Our research concentrates on the evaluation of psychotherapy and psychological treatments including processes and mechanisms, barriers and beneficial factors as well as short term and long term outcomes. One specific focus of the professorship is on mental health care and services research, which investigates treatments under clinically representative conditions, i.e. under the conditions of routine care, addressing important factors such as individual needs for treatment, access to mental health services, as well as utilization and pathways of care.
