EQUIP UZH Peer Mentoring Group

The Peer Mentoring Group Engaging Qualitative Inquiry with Peers at UZH (EQUIP UZH) was newly established in the fall of 2024. The initial spark for founding the group was a visit by Prof. Dr. Heidi Levitt, one of the most renowned qualitative psychotherapy researchers. Following her excellent workshop, which was already attended by two chairs, it became clear that there was strong interest in networking to promote qualitative methods. In the second half of the year, we therefore organized three meetings in which doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from three chairs were represented.

EQUIP UZH pursues the following goals within the framework of a peer mentoring group for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (PhF):

  • Promote methodological competencies in qualitative research

  • Increase awareness of qualitative quality criteria and support their implementation

  • Foster networking and the international integration of members

  • Encourage exchange on ongoing qualitative or mixed-methods research projects

  • Build a community that offers hands-on support (e.g., through co-ratings) or a listening ear when facing challenges

In pursuit of these goals the EQUIP UZH hosts workshops and guest lectures with international experts, research roundtables (where members present their ongoing projects and receive feedback from others) as well as more informal opportunities to connect and support qualitative researchers in the form of apéros, community lunches, coffee chats, and Zvieris.

The organising committee is made up of four researches from two groups at the Institute of Psychology, please do not hesitate to contact the committee:
